Barha Interior was founded in Kathmandu by Pawal Maharjan, who spent years working alongside master carpenters before opening his own workshop. The name Barha, meaning twelve in Newari, was chosen to honour the twelve craftsmen who shaped his early years in the trade.
From the beginning, the workshop has had one rule: no particle board, no shortcuts. Every piece is made from solid timber, kiln-dried sal, teak, or walnut, sourced responsibly and finished by hand in our own workshop on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
Over more than a decade, Barha Interior has built furniture and complete interiors for homes in Lazimpat and Sanepa, cafés in Thamel, offices in Durbarmarg, and hotels across the valley. The scale changes; the care does not.
Today our team of eight craftsmen handles everything from a single dining table to a full residential fit-out. We believe the best interior design is invisible, it just makes a space feel like it was always meant to be that way.
